If stress is taking a toll on your spouse, you should step in and help. Stress is unhealthy and can cause headaches, upset stomach, sleep problems, muscle pain, and more. With the pressures of everyday life, school, etc., it can be hard to deal with it.
Day Spa
Help your spouse by treating him or her to a day spa. Call the spa ahead of time, and purchase what services he or she would benefit from. The spa employees can sit down with you, and go over the different services they offer. They are knowledgeable on what is best for your spouse, such as a body wrap, and cranio sacral therapy. Below is information about each of these services to help you decide what you want to choose for your spouse.
Cranio Sacral Therapy
This therapy is derived from osteopathy, which focuses more on the muscles and joints. Whereas cranio sacral therapy focuses more on your spouse's mind using a therapeutic hands on gentle touch to certain pulse points throughout the body.
When someone is feeling stressed, it causes muscles to tighten and affects the cranio sacral system, which can cause tension around the spinal cord and brain. The spa employee can detect this tension by using his or hands to feel different locations on the body to test how well spinal fluid is pulsing around the spinal cord and brain. The touch is then applied to release the tension to the tissues that affect the cranio sacral system.
In most cases, your spouse will lay on a massage table fully clothed. The spa employee makes light contact at different points on the body, such as the feet, head, torso, and knees.
Body Wrap
A body wrap can help your spouse feel more relaxed by detoxing the body, which rids the body of toxins.
Before the treatment, the spa employee exfoliates the body using a salt scrub or dry brushing technique. When this is finished, creams, lotions, clay, seaweed, or algae is slathered on his or her body using a massage technique. They then lie down and the body is wrapped with sheets, towels, or plastic for a certain amount of time to keep him or her warm.
During the treatment, your spouse may be left in a quiet room, or they may be given a scalp massage while waiting for the treatment to finish.
When the treatment is finished and the body wrap removed, your spouse will step into a shower to rinse off the products. Lotion is then applied in a massage like manner to soften his or her skin. You may also hear body wrap called a body mask or body cocoon.
Consider purchasing treatment packages for your spouse to go to the day spa on a regular basis, such as once a month, to keep the stress at bay.
